March Arthritis Recipe: Lemon MSM Health Drink We hear so many fantastic stories about the relief MSM provides for arthritis and inflammation. Combine all the ingredients in a glass. Add filtered or distilled water and stir well. Lemon is a popular fruit when it comes to therapeutic properties. Lemon water provides a clarifying action in your body and helps to flush out toxins in your system. This is especially important for people with arthritis and rheumatism. Apart from being an amazing detoxifier, lemon water also gives the following health benefits:
March Health Tip: Go To the Light We are intricately connected to the sun. Our bodies need sunlight to recharge, just as batteries need electricity to recharge. Sunlight has the power to help us fight disease and protects us against infection. Our skin produces Vitamin D when exposed to sunlight, which is needed to absorb calcium, help build strong bones and protect against osteoporosis. Additionally, sunlight elevates mood. Most Americans are sunlight deficient, especially if living in northern states and especially during the winter months. To help your physical and emotional well-being, you should be in the sunlight 10 to 15 minutes daily, with as much skin exposed as modesty (or local law!) allows. Do not use sunscreen but do take your daily “recharging” session in the morning or late afternoon, especially if you are fair-skinned. March Bath & Body Recipe: Scented Heating Pad This is a fantastically aromatic way to unknot tight muscles and reduce inflammation. For this recipe, you will need;
Mix the uncooked rice and dried lavender and pour into a clean, long sock. Knot the end, place inside the other sock and knot that end. Heat for 90 seconds in a microwave before each use. March Arthritis Remedy: Honey for Arthritis? Mix one part honey to two parts of lukewarm water and add a small level teaspoon of cinnamon powder. Make a paste and massage slowly onto the itching area of the body. It has been found that the pain can recede within a minute or two. Arthritic patients can also benefit from the daily intake morning and evening, of one cup of hot water with two spoons of honey and one small teaspoon of cinnamon powder mixed together. In a research program conducted at Copenhagen University, it was found that when the doctors treated their patients with a mixture of one tablespoon honey and half a teaspoon cinnamon powder before breakfast; within a week, out of 200 patients who underwent the treatment, 73 patients were relieved of pain, and within a month most of the patients who could not walk or who had limited mobility due to their arthritis, started walking without pain. March Exercise Tip: Hip Flexor Stretch If your hips aren't hoppin' the way they used to, try this stretch to loosen them up.
