Effexor can increase the effects of many other drugs, leading to serious side effects. If taking Effexor, talk to your doctor and pharmacist before taking drugs that cause drowsiness including other antidepressants, alcohol, antihistamines, sedatives, pain relievers, anxiety medicines, and muscle relaxants.
