Scientists hoping to find new treatment options for
people with fibromyalgia have found answers in
alternative energy treatments for fibromyalgia.
For fibromyalgia patients searching for a new treatment
option, adult growth hormone deficiency treatment can
improve their energy level, increase muscle strength,
decrease pain, improved psychological outlook and
quality of life as well as improve cholesterol and LDL
levels.
New treatment options using growth hormone has proven to
be ideal for people with both fibromyalgia and chronic
fatigue where IGF-1 (Somatomedin-C) levels are
abnormally low. In fact, scientists say there is a
direct correlation between low levels of IGF-1 and low
levels of growth hormone release.
Growth hormone release is triggered during the deep
stage of sleep. Scientists searching for new treatment
for fibromyalgia patients, who often have trouble
sleeping, have also found growth hormone release occurs
with exercise.
Indeed, scientific evidence that looks at new treatment
strategies suggests regular exercise is critical for
people with fibromyalgia syndrome. If you have
fibromyalgia and are interested in taking advantage of
new treatment options, avoid high-impact exercise such
as aerobics and running. Even though you may feel some
pain and fatigue, walking and swimming are ideal as part
of a new treatment plan for fibromyalgia.
Many fibromyalgia patients exercise and follow their new
treatment plan under the supervision of a physical
therapist or exercise physiologist who may recommend
moderate exercise three to four times per week at 65 to
75 percent maximum heart rate. You may want to use a
heart rate monitor, with watch and band that fits under
your shirt, to make sure you stay in your optimal zone.

New treatment research for fibromyalgia has shown how
important exercise and growth hormone therapy can be.
Once released, growth hormone effects the generation and
repair of muscle tissue in the human body.
New treatment research for fibromyalgia has shown growth
hormone replacement helps convert type II muscle fibers
into type I which is important to senior citizens with
weaker type II muscle fibers as well as fibromyalgia
patients.
Treatment research using growth hormone replacement has
been overwhelmingly successful with 30 percent of muscle
cells converting to type I in a three-month period of
time.
However, since IGF-1 is scarce, new treatment using
growth hormone was traditionally not available for
people with chronic fatigue syndrome or fibromyalgia.
New human growth hormone treatment has been found to do
the most in the treatment of fibromyalgia.
In
one study of growth hormone as a new treatment for
fibromyalgia patients, 50 women with fibromyalgia and
low IGF-1 levels were studied for 9 months. The new
treatment study was conducted by the Department of
Medicine at Oregon Health Sciences University in
Portland.
The women who took part in the randomized,
placebo-controlled, double blind study for new
fibromyalgia treatment gave themselves daily
subcutaneous injections of growth hormone or placebo.
Results of the new treatment research for fibromyalgia
indicated daily growth hormone injections deliver prompt
and sustained increase in IGF-1 levels. The group of
women receiving the new treatment showed a significant
improvement over the placebo group in both the
“Fibromyalgia Impact Questionnaire” score and the tender
point score.

However, after the patients discontinued their new
treatment of growth hormone, their symptoms returned.
Researchers concluded growth hormone deficiency might be
responsible for some of the symptoms of fibromyalgia.
Finally, the Arthritis Research Center, and University
of Kansas School of Medicine performed another study
aimed at finding new treatment alternatives. They
discovered through a comprehensive Health Assessment
Questionnaire administered every six months to 538
patients from six rheumatology centers, that most
fibromyalgia patients do not improve with standard
therapy.
Their study concluded patients with established
fibromyalgia who were followed up for as long as 7 years
had abnormal scores for psychological status, pain,
functional disability, and sleep disturbance fatigue.
New treatment options would have been invaluable for the
patients because essentially all of their symptoms
persisted during the follow-up years.
Scientists continue to search for new treatment options
for people with fibromyalgia. Growth hormone replacement
is one of the hottest new treatment options because 30
percent of fibromyalgia patients have growth hormone
deficiencies.
