Alternative Chronic Fatigue Fibromyalgia Syndrome Treatment
Alternative Treatment for Chronic Fatigue, Fibromyalgia
If you were hoping to feel relieved when your doctor put a name to the medical condition that left you feeling achy and tired, you might have felt an even greater level of anxiety when you found out you have not one, but several conditions.

Some experts insist chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia are opposite sides of the spectrum for the identical syndrome. Moreover, people with fibromyalgia and chronic fatigue syndrome may also experience symptoms for lupus and rheumatoid arthritis.

You might become frustrated when you have chronic fatigue syndrome along with fibromyalgia, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. Chronic fatigue syndrome and fibromyalgia may leave you feeling exhausted. It may be hard to identify the source of pain since fibromyalgia, lupus, chronic fatigue syndrome and rheumatoid arthritis feel like the same miserable beast.

Research has shown 50 to 70 percent of fibromyalgia patients also fit the criteria for chronic fatigue syndrome. Other overlapping conditions include lupus and rheumatoid arthritis. Many lupus, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and rheumatoid arthritis patients experience sleep deprivation and similar levels of stress. At the same, time, fibromyalgia, lupus, chronic fatigue syndrome and rheumatoid arthritis are four distinct conditions.

Fibromyalgia and Chronic Fatigue Alternative Treatment

People with fibromyalgia experience stiffness and pain throughout the tissues that support and move the bones and joints. They also battle with fatigue, sleep deprivation and widespread pain.

People with lupus, an autoimmune disease, deal with inflammation and damage to their brain, lungs, heart, joints and blood vessels. Lupus is a disease in which the immune system harms the body's tissues and cells. Fibromyalgia, which is twice as common as rheumatoid arthritis, and lupus have one major thing in common. They are both common arthritic conditions. And, although they are viewed as legitimate conditions, there is no cure or known cause for fibromyalgia syndrome and chronic fatigue syndrome.

More women than men appear to be affected by conditions such as lupus, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and rheumatoid arthritis. In fact, about 75 percent of autoimmune diseases occur in women. They are especially vulnerable to fibromyalgia, lupus and chronic fatigue syndrome during their childbearing years. Autoimmune diseases can affect connective tissue when the body’s immune system becomes confused and begins to attack the organs it should protect.

During the onset of lupus, one major complaint of more than half of lupus patients is joint pain. People with fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome and rheumatoid arthritis may also suffer with joint pain. However, more than 90 percent of lupus patients feel joint or muscle pain sooner or later during the duration of their illness.

The major cause of joint pain in people with lupus is arthritis or inflammation of the joints. Some of the problems associated with arthritis include tenderness, fluid collection, pain in and around the joints and swelling which may also be caused by fibromyalgia.

Natural Cure for Chronic Fatigue and Fibromyalgia

If you have been diagnosed with either fibromyalgia, lupus, rheumatoid arthritis, chronic fatigue syndrome or a variation of two or more of these conditions, you will want to change your lifestyle by adopting a proper diet.

Your diet will contribute to a healthy immune system, which is critical for people with fibromyalgia, lupus, chronic fatigue syndrome and rheumatoid arthritis. Eating a well-balanced diet may alleviate some of the uncomfortable symptoms.Your immune system’s number one enemy is free radicals that damage healthy cells by causing mutations of the cells. Antioxidants found in certain food may destroy free radicals.

First, choose a diet rich in vitamin C, a strong antioxidant that boosts the immune system to strengthen the body fighting fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue syndrome, lupus or rheumatoid arthritis. Try eating foods rich in vitamin C such as green vegetables, citrus fruits and cantaloupes.
Also, choose whole grains and vegetable oils that provide the vitamin E. Vitamin E may help to slow down the symptoms of chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia, lupus and rheumatoid arthritis by strengthening body cells that fight infection. People with lupus, chronic fatigue syndrome, fibromyalgia and rheumatoid arthritis who eat foods rich in vitamin E have an added weapon against viruses and bacteria. Other excellent food choices include red, yellow and orange fruits and vegetables including red and yellow peppers, pumpkins, carrots and tomatoes.

Finally, when it comes to diet, opt for a low fat diet because too much fat may interfere with the body’s ability to ward off bacteria and free radicals, which are dangerous for people with fibromyalgia, lupus, chronic fatigue syndrome and rheumatoid arthritis. Simply review food labels and select items that have a low percentage of fat. Select lean meats or opt for a vegetarian diet with plenty of beans and legumes, fresh fruits and vegetables.
